is introducing the expedition to the Pakistan
K2 & Broad Peak
The main goal of our expedition is to reach the summit of the second highest mountain in the world K2 (8.612 m) a BROAD PEAK (8.047 m) using expedition light style. K2 (Chogori ) is the most difficult eight thousander in the world. It is considered to be a great achievement to reach both summits over 8000m.
To the present time Himalaya 8000 organized seven expeditions to the eight thousanders. On four of them members of Himalaya 8000 reached summits: Cho-Oyu 93, Dhaulagiri 94, Shisha-Pangma 95, Manaslu 96, Makalu 98, Lhotse 99 and Kanchenjunga 2000.
Members of the K2 and Broad Peak expedition will be experienced climbers, who have reached several summits over 8000m. Sona Vomackova is the best Czech female climber and she will be a member as well. Sona reached the summits of two eightthousanders: MAKALU (8.463 m) a na LHOTSE (8.516 m). She holds the Czech female elevation record and she is the first female in the world to have reached the above mentioned summits without oxygen.
The goal of this expedition is to reach the second highest summit in the world in combination with the other summit s over 8000m without oxygen.

Zdenek Hruby
leader of the expedition, member of five expeditions to summits over 8000m, which for two of them he was a leader, he reached the summits of four without oxygen: Cho-Oyu (8.201 m), Gasherbrum I (8. 068m), Gasherbrum II (8.035 m) a Lhotse (8.516 m). Leader of successful expedition to Everest 1998.
Josef Simunek
deputy leader, founding member of Himalaya 8000, participated in 7 expeditions over 8000m, he led 5 of them and reached the summits of three without oxygen: Shisha-Pangmu (8.046 m), Makalu (8.463 m) a Lhotse (8.516 m).
Radek Jaros
participated in several Himalayan expeditions and other world ridges, reached the summit of Mt. EVEREST the 1998 as the second Czech in history without oxygen.
Josef Moravek
participated in several expeditions to the world mountains, reached the summits of Mt.McKinley, Ama Dablam, Lhotse (8.516 m) without oxygen. He was a leader of several expeditions such as Dhaulagiri 1999
Sona Vomackova
presently the best Czech female climber, participated expedition Pumo-Ri 1995, reached summit of Mt. McKinley 1997, Makalu (8.463 m) 1998 and Lhotse (8.516m) in 1999. She reached all of the previously mentioned eight thousanders as the first female in the world without oxygen and she holds the Czech female elevation record.
Ludek Ondrej
founding member of Himalaya 8000, present to seven Himalayan expeditions: Cho-Oyu, Dhaulagiri, Shisha-Pangmu, Manaslu, Makalu, Lhotse a Kanchenjungu. In 1993 led a successful expedition to Cho-Oyu.
Petr Skrivanek
founding member Himalaya 8000, participated in 4 expeditions over 8000m, reached summit of Shisha-Pangmu (8.046 m) without oxygen.
Lhakpa Dorjee Sherpa
experienced Himalayan climber, member of several Himalayan expeditions as Sherpa and porter. Last four years he was closely working with Himalaya 8000 and with them reached Makalu (8.463 m) and Lhotse (8.516 m).

1. Presence in Radio broadcasting
1.1 Before the expedition departs , that is during May and June Radiozurnal (Czech radio) station will air discussions with the expedition team.
1.2 During these months there will be 3 short air times with info about the expedition.
1.3 Every working day during the expedition Radiozurnal will air live segments from the Base Camp using satellite phone and satellite system INMARSAT. Based on the agreement with the radio station Radiozurnal we can offer our sponsors commercial air time before and after our live segments.
1.4 After the return of the expedition we will have discussions in Radiozurnal, where it is possible to have representatives of the sponsors present.
1.5 Three months after the expedition returns we will have 5 on air segments where we will discuss the success of the expedition.
1.6 It is possible to have quizzes for listeners during live entries from base camp with prizes supplied by our sponsors.
1.7 Complete radio coverage : June, July, August, September 2001.
2. TV Coverage
2.1. The whole expedition will be documented in segments that will be aired during sports and learning TV programs as Objektiv, Sportovní odpoledne ČT, and Studio 6 etc… Complete coverage : June - October 2001.
2.2. Twice a week during the expedition we will send updated pictures using satellite to TV3, Studio 6, and sporting news BBV. We will supply live comments to these pictures with actual updates to the expedition progress.
2.3 A press conference will take a place after return of the expedition with possible appearances from our sponsors. TV3 will air at least a 20 min documentary from the expedition. CT station will air information about the expedition in the main sports news BBV. Afterwards will follow discussions with pictures in TV programs such as: Studio 6 ČT„ , nebo „Snídaně s Novou“ a „Prima Jízda“.
2.4 Based on the agreement with TV3 we will produce a documentary with support from our sponsors. This documentary will be aired by TV3 and will be available on video tapes.
3. Presence in the Press
3.1 We will send periodical news to the electronic news “iDNES”, where on their home page will be a banner with expedition logo from June 1st to the end of September and a special additional news page with an update three times a week and a link to the server www.himalaya.com. Our news will be published by other servers as well: “Climbing news” etc. Main info will be posted on pages of the expedition www.himalaya8000.com where we registered during last year's expedition 400 000 hits!
3.2 We will be sending news to main news distributor CTK and newspaper MF DNES at least three times a week.
3.3 Articles will also be published in magazines Koktejl or Reflex, in daily news Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, MF Dnes, Slovo, Sport and in specialized magazines Montana, Dobrodruh, Outdoor, etc.
3.4 We can provide exclusives for periodicals of your choice. Complete activities will last during the whole year of 2001 in the form of articles, interviews and so on.
4. Other
4.1 Before and after the expedition we will organize press conferences with our sponsors.
4.2 We always prepare photographic material from the expedition for sponsors commercial use, book publishing, commercial calendars, poster, and postcards.
4.3 We can promote your products in commercials or during trade shows.
4.4 Updated information will be periodically posted on internet pages with the possibility for published links to our sponsors.
4.5 The whole expedition can be carried in the name of our general sponsor.
4.6 We offer direct presence for individual sponsors representatives in our expedition. This can be in the form of exclusive tracking in the area of Pakistan or trekking with the whole expedition to the Base camp.
